Most animes with 12 episodes usually cover about 40 chapters.

I am not sure about how many episodes there are going to be if it's 12 it would be about 40 and if it's 24 then like 80. That's how it usually is. I am only telling you my estimate some animes vary they cover less or more chapters depending on the length of the chapter and the pacing.

I would really love for part 1 to adapt all the way to death row prisoners arc (chapter 54-55) and part 2 until JCC infiltration arc (chapter 104).
But based on the trailer, I'd say part 1 will adapt until the lab arc (chapter 31) with the wutang chapters setting up part 2, which could end with the JCC transfer exams arc (chapter 72)

It is still possible to adapt to chapter 72 in 2 cours. The manga is very fast-paced
