Around the beginning, we see visions with Subaru where the Ulgrams and a dragon face off. Subaru has curses from both parties. So it's kind of a... competition?

You can ask questions regarding (or upto ep 6) here..

So they cancelled each other out? What if Subaru get one more another curse?

@Anzenc

Well imagine two mafia groups competing to kill you...

That being said, since
, I thought I shouldn't elaborate too much. It's just that those opening visuals confused some.

That being said two things can be mentioned:

1 Ulgarm curse has lost it's trigger, but it hasn't vanished.

2. Dragon blood by itself isn't necessarily toxic. I mean this episode insert song already made that point.

However, the author's tweet to this episode is more informative:

Incidentally, the "Dragon's Blood" stored by the Kingdom of Lugunica is said to be necessary to thaw out the frozen elves of the Elior Forest that Emilia froze. It's necessary to become the queen in order to use the "Dragon's Blood", so that's why Emilia initially wanted to become the queen.

Is this tweet a spoiler or what?

@Bejitto It's kinda like Al's reveal in Breaktime, something that was supposed to be adapted in Re:Zero S1.

This information is supposed to be known before this season, because the sauce is in an Arc 4 (Season 2) interlude story.

@Bejitto well they can still mention it later. One can also interpret it to be "misinformation" or "bait".

Like if you spread all sorts of cool rumours about dragon blood, they might just become... extinct.

So all this is more good as trivia and context of things than solid knowledge. At this point in the anime.

i watched a breakdown video and the explanation i understood was that both the dragon blood curse and the mad dog curse (from s1) were fighting over whom would take over Subaru

ig they cancelled eachother out and both curses now settled inside Subaru, thus healing his leg (correct me if I'm wrong)

I actually didn’t understand what that sequence was about at all and thought it was a premonition. Thank you for this thread!

Why didn't the dragon blood also spread throughout his body like the curse is this because of Felis forbidden healing which temporarily healed his leg.

Another weird thing was how Subaru's bandage and shoe also came back. I think it's just carelessness from studio.

@WaterMage it didn't mix with his blood, it's just stuck to his leg tissue.

I don't know about the sneakers, but loose bandages were still there around the leg in the LN.

According to Liliana shared lore, the dragon blood

rejuvenates all destruction that has been wrought

So it might just have restored the leg to a perceived proper earlier state. There's also the fact that the blood was also from Capella, who can shapeshift clothing - however that feels like a stretch for now. Anyway this does feel like something that'll get a solid answer sooner or later.

@Laplace_kun ok, thanks for explaining.
