"Nowadays"?? Holy crap, sweet brother in Christ-chan, if you think so you desperately need to watch the actual old stuff, not from mere 10 years ago.
The only studio today that animates as good as they used to is Kyoto Animation, NO ONE else. UFO table? Mappa? pfft ugly sketchy drawings amateurs.

fk I was trying to remember what to say for the word I was trying to explain now I get what I write above was actually wrong cuz if we talk about anime nothing beats the 80-90s vibe. Also nowadays kids like anime with almost the same art style also the old animation looks old to them with all shows having their unique art style and vibe

like recently I saw a clip of vampire hunter d in which the show actually gave Shivers with the animation alone and they showed a little girl approaching the mc in a cliff and they literally had depth perception which cannot be found these days

hmmm I'll say I loved old anime animation styles more than how animes are made nowadays. of course stuff like Your Name, Garden of Words are a different category. but when it comes to series, I loved how the older ones have this very perosnal touch to them. nowadays I feel it's more about how bright and wacky it can be.

Il say old animation for me its better than today's doodles. Older animatiom had charm and adult vibe plus fights actually looked great. Today u cant even figure who is fighting who and characters looks like10 years old

“Pretty good for 2009/2010.” Child, animation just WAS good in that era. That was before computer animation took over the entire industry and before studios just pushed stuff out without care for quality. It was before animation was being outsourced en masse. This was just normal for that time period, the best time period in all of anime.

I don’t pay much attention to animations, but for some reason it was one of the animes I could binge watch with no problem.

The pacing, the zoom ins of characters, it’s simple but effective instead of the new gen of flashy scenes and stuff.

Also the chibi characters were SO cute and wholesome! :)
