I don't mind the shoddy animation of the latest two episodes. If anything it makes the show more unnerving. (EDIT: Same goes for the final episode.) I probably should've read the manga, though.

I thought about the Tool song and I'm happy that that's where it went.

Also agree with your take. The animation may have dropped off, but in a weird way the show became more eerie.

I don't think the animation was the main problem, it was the pacing. So much random shit happened in quick succession that I started laughing rather than being scared lmao

5 years of production and they just give us 4 episodes instead of 6 or even better 8.
It seems like they already exhausted their resources on 1st one and outsourced the rest.
