What is your favorite opening of SAO for me this is a really hard choice because all of them are so good and listen to them constantly. If I had to choose it would either be Crossing Field, for nostalgia reasons and its the first thing I think of when I think of SAO, or ANIMA because I'm just a sucker for final openings and it also helps that its a great song in its own right. I also included the alternative openings to be thorough. I haven't seen alternative so I can speak on those. I know the second opening for alternative isn't out at the time when this forum is posted it's for those who see the forum after, or for those who wanted to wait.

I have to agree that for nostalgia purposes crossing field is the best opening and also when I hear it I instantly think of sao, but I also love Ignite and Adamas. Tbh this might be a hot take, but I think Courage might be my favorite.

I loved LISA's songs. Crossing field is a classic and catch the moment is also excelent. (To add something slightly off topic I ADORE yume sekai. I know its an ending, but people do not talk about it as much as the ops)

ANIMA by Reona 100%. That song is just so fucking amazing, and when you watch it with the context of the anime and then it gets to the chorus and you see Kirito appear and its just.. chills

ADAMAS was my favorite, but RESISTER and ANIMA are very close behind. Still need to hear GG clearly tho, since it was in the bg for ep 1 of GGO Alternative.

My favorite song from SAO in general is Independence by ReoNa. I'm grateful to the SAO franchise for introducing ReoNa's music. The anime she does songs for don't disappoint either.

so true! she is my favorite singer and I love all her songs. Anima especially when you see the translation for it, it makes so much sense and how it fits for the series

Honestly, I think most of those are really great OP and it's tough to make a choice, but if I really had to make one I'd say the second OP, 'Innocence', is my favorite of the lot.

As a side note, I think the series also has some fantastic ending themes.
