Now that the anime has finished airing and as the title says, what are your thoughts overall of the anime?

For me, I think it was not bad but could be better. There were parts that were in the VN that has been cut and/or changed in the anime that I thought affected the narrative of the story, then again they were limited by the 13 episodes. I imagine that if the anime had more episodes the adaptation would be more better compared to what it is right now.

Exactly what you said. They changed some parts and cut out some parts but the ending was beautiful. Better than the VN imo.

There’s plenty of feedback in the episode 13 comments page, seems most people are satisfied with a good job well done. As anime only, I thought it was excellent, almost a 10 but not quite.

they skipped most of the best scenes, and cut out the best quotes from the scenes they kept. highkey garbage when compared to how good the VN is. even the true ending felt very rushed

couldn't have asked for a better ending. honestly, I got the bad ending in the VN so the anime was quite great and while there were a lot of anime original contents, I was satisfied with it.

obviously as there is limited time allotment changes will have to be made, but one gripe I held was the removal- or lack of- mystery that surrounded the world and its elements.

i remember when playing the game, everything felt surreal and each plot point was striking to me; however, i feel as though the anime withheld on this aspect to make it easier to digest for the viewer. I believe this to be the case with yasuda as he was shown earlier, with atri and her violent tendencies, her being the one to save natsu from the cliff (which was obvious but still), eden, etc.

there were some changes i did like, such as the integration of yoko as a main-stay character in the latter half of the story, but i wish they kept more suspense so-to-speak.

(side note, why not include the shoe grabbing scene when its like one of the only three choices in the VN lmao).

I agree, but in doing so they kind of sacrificed the storytelling and the subtle details in what made the VN amazing. Then again, as we know they were limited due to the 13 episode allotment so its really quite unfortunate.

Yeah, the anime didn't really do much justice to that one. The conversation between Natsuki and Atri at that cliff were pretty significant and provided great insight to Natsuki and Atri's characters. And I can say the same for the Eden part too.

Agreed, they did a great job on bringing her character, I kinda expected for the other girl with glasses to have some role too but I guess it was only Yoko that got the treatment lol.

The final episode was pretty good although squished for time but what could you expect? Some scenes from other episodes really nice too (like the entire second half of episode 10).
The anime also looks pretty.

I thought the majority of the adaptation felt pretty bad in comparison to the VN though. Pretty much all context required to understand the story is missing, and there is a stupid amount of changes to the story (probably at least 100, there isn't really anything they left alone) and a lot of the changes make no sense at all. For example ill list just a very short few right from the very first few minutes when they recover atri:

VN: enters through the front door and not from the roof because it could damage whats inside. Anime: enters through the roof.
VN: im not quite sure what she is and i feel very calm and not afraid. Anime: humanoid? AAAAAAAA!! AAAGFHHHH!! GAHGAJKGSHAJKG!! IM FLIPPING TF OUT AAAAAA!!!!
VN: atri makes a mistake opening the capsule underwater, causing a huge plume of air bubbles which causes the roof to collapse on the sub. Anime: natsuki crashes by flipping tf out and going ham on the controls.
VN: atri cant swim. Anime: atri swims.

This is only a few, and these don't sound very significant, but it only gets worse and worse as the anime progresses. I would be surprised if anyone really understands this anime because I sure don't. Also what even happened to the music? Also... the voice actors are the same, but just why is atri so dang annoying in the anime? Her voice is constantly way over the top and ear bleeding. I swear she speaks a lot softer in the vn.

The original also felt far more immersive and delivered way better but then again its probably because its a VN and I may be heavily biased because I'm mostly a VN reader, and I think VN's are just generally a better format than anime for this kind of storytelling to begin with, and now the whole world probably hates me and thinks im a hater or something and tbh i might be and i cant help it and deserve to be imprisoned and burned alive.

7/10 for me ig? That might sound like a pretty good score but that's actually really bad because the original was a 10/10.
