Start a new season!!!
USA pass round against Switzerland!!! Easy match to them!!!
Well, It´s time to play against Germany!!!
I still can't believe that, even at this stage of the championship, they are still playing with their jackets on!
kekeke
its been 2 years since the previous season in 2022
that season well uh. it was kind of a travesty to be honest. as an anime only i get the impression they compressed a lot, and the tennis matches in general were mediocre or average at best
can this season recover?
it seems we have 12 entire episodes to go up against germany
how many matches are there going to be? 5? 7? more?
the other big questions of course, who is going to be playing?
who is going to face tezuka? im assuming ryoma
the other one is volk. tokugawa?
and the rest of the german team isnt exactly going to be sitting around either
12 episodes it is. (it is confirmed 12 eps right?)
though im assuming the first ep is mostly an introduction, and then the action begins next week on ep 2
so yeah sanada's single match was skipped at the end of the previous season. why i dunno. shrug
also ryoma had an incident i guess
there's a lot of people to choose from uhh i honestly dont remember very well, they crammed so many people
germany will be something
considering how strong tezuka is, assuming he plays singles i dont see anyone aside from ryoma being able to handle him
even if we assume japan defeats germany, that means there's only one moer match in the finals. usa im assuming, though that wont be anytime soon
EP 1:
so here we have atobe and tezuka. atobe got embarassed pretty badly previously. even back in the nationals, atobe alerady addmited that tezuka was better, and tezuka was winning in their previous match
(also setting aside the practicality of CATCHING a tennis serve)
since ryoma has atually played with the usa team he knows most of the members. though germany hmm
so yeah usa is "flexing" by forfeiting a won match. they would have won 3-1, and thats not enough, they want to win by 4-1
so meanwhile. basically this is their way of tezuka vs atobe 1v1 without actually having atobe play
meanwhile uh. i mean, they conveniently overlooked all the translation shenigans. most of the time
i was wondering where is spain. so spain vs usa
oh i completely forgor that ryoga left at some point. hmm
has ryoma ever played before? since previously it was like, sanada, yukimura, hmm
since the nationals ryoma has only played like a few on screen singles, tokugawa and the dude, and then the france guy
i mean the lineup is going to be very hmm. the question is, is tezuka going to surprise us by playing doubles? what about volk
and then...
im assuming fuji, tokugawa, yukimura, ryoma, maaybe sanada, and then high schoolers. hard to say
so yeah ryoma is way stronger than the rest of the players at this point soo hmm
ok so the lineup doesnt have ryoma, and kirihara is thrown in for some reason. kinda sad i forgor about nio considering his relevance previously, OOPS. sanada isnt there, while yukimura is. and the rest of the lineup is the top high schoolers, except tokugawa isnt in the lineup
11 eps for 5 matches, 2 doubles and 3 singles hmmm. but why kirihara though? like even if they want to just "sacrifice" someone why him?
or is there some kind of weird reason
The op is kinda eh i guess. i guess prince of tennis has always had very similar ish op
Have to see who germany sends in their lineup
The op seems to imply that yukimura is gonna face tezuka? could be anyone really hmmm
qp vs oni. so the second best player. i get the feeling oni is gonna lose. it'll take a big upset to overtake for this one
Also i thought the doubles were going first, are they switching to the 12121 format. since previously they mostly used 22111 format
In this ep. Atobe and tezuka, kirihara and ryoma. USA defeats swiss in the quarterfinal and going to face spain.
Meanwhile the lineup is announced, 4 high schoolers (no tokugawa for some reason), nio, yukimura, and kirihara. Hmm.
I mean you could say maybe he's conserving ryoma for the finals? Not sure. I do kinda feel bad if ryoma doesnt get to play.
Kirihara is probably one of my least interesting characters and Im not a huge fan of all the favoritistm he seems to get.
Animelist doesnt have the anime listed for 12 eps, though for now I'm assuming it is. Assuming 2 eps per match that leaves us 10 eps for 5 matches with one more ep at the end I guess, if one match drags or something
