Now that the series is over and we have a more holistic portrayal of Woobin's and Suji's relationship, what do people think of this? Because I know this is supposed to be a reality check to the idea of being hopelessly in love but also it feels very unbelievably crazy at the same time. I personally feel the depiction of Woobin's and Suji's traumas could've been explored more. It could've given more context as to why they end up being so horrifically drawn to each other.
Their relationship serves as bittersweet cautionary tale because many people can feel trapped in their relationships like Woobin but come to accept their partner's flaws and see good in them. Ignoring the expected trope of the manhwa couple being extremely rich, beautiful, and carried by plot conveniences, the manhwa addresses power imbalances and suppressed resentment in the relationships very starkly, and I applaud it. So I'd say the relationship is very grounded in the realities (as realistic as a romance manhwa can be) of toxic, obsessive, suffocating love, but it doesn't really give enough detailed info on the character's psyche and leaves a lot to the readers' imaginations and fantasies. Like did Suji
A lot of the reasoning the manhwa gives for their actions can be kind of surface-level.
It’s time to ditch the text file.
