I haven't read the manga at all, but I've been following Rent a Girlfriend since Season 1 was released.

And what I felt after 3 seasons without any progress or advancement in the MC's relationship with the other girls was very disappointing, coupled with unnecessary drama.

And what was surprising was that I didn't expect there to be a Season 4 which was rumored to be released in 2025.

Here I'll be honest, the MC is very fickle, can't be firm in making his own decision to choose a partner who will live together forever until the afterlife separates it.

And there's too much drama that is only used to extend the duration or episodes of the anime. Season 4 was rumored, and I somehow have mixed feelings and have no hope that the MC will be firm in his own decision or simply I doubt what the story of Season 4 will be like...

Which I hope they don't repeat the same mistakes as Season 1-3, and I don't really want to put my high hopes over Season 4 but at least I still hope they don't f*ck with the story again like Season 1-3.

The latest arc actually made it very clear that MC sees Mini as a woman now, but doesn't want to lust over her like he does for all his other female friends, their platonic friendship is just that important for him. I think their relationship is the only interesting thing the author is writing at this point

I don't understand why anyone would want to read stupid drama-heavy harem manga with a hint of romance that seems more like the MC's obsession with a single girl. It's like looking for a needle in a haystack when you could just enjoy a good romance story. Some people just don't know what they're missing. I was a manga reader up until I took a break after the arc that would be adapted in S4. This fourth arc was definitely one of the lows of the series, it was a tense arc dragged out for way too long and the mc hit an extreme low. It was so heartbreaking seeing things go so downhill after seeing the peak that this series reached in the movie arc culminating in so many emotion packed moments with the 'perfect girlfriend' speech being my personal fav. The bonding between these characters over this arc was a really unique experience where it goes past the bounds of a fleeting romance to substantial lifelong impact on both of them. Neither of them will ever forget these moments, and Chizuru especially will always remember Kazuya for how important he was for her in this part of her life.

Then seeing people say that this is turning into a harem is so sad. It's been pretty much clear after the introduction of all 4 girls in season 1 that he only likes Chizuru, and everything afterwards has just reaffirmed that. The biggest flaw of this manga was always its terrible side characters and how they disappear for 50 chapters at a time, but re-inserting them back into the story is the worst solution you could come up with. If you messed up, then just forget about them or give their story a short conclusion so the rest of the story can continue on its way. I hope that when I go back to finally catch up, there will be something different, but it's pretty hard to have any faith at this point.
