In Monogatari Series: Second Season (Episode 13, 19:30), Shinobu tells Nadeko, "You're just so happened to be cute." She points out that Nadeko uses her weak and timid personality to always play the victim. If Nadeko argues, people take her side; if she lies, she is forgiven; and if she stays silent, she is considered smart. By analyzing Nadeko's behavior, Shinobu reveals that Nadeko herself isn't "cute"—her strategy is enabled by her appearance.

In Monogatari Series: Off & Monster Season (Episode 6, 22:40) Shinobu acknowledges that after facing her own issues and saving herself, Nadeko is no longer using her personality to manipulate those around her.

Ultimately, Nadeko was a self-proclaimed victim who "just happened to be cute," but after overcoming her struggles and no longer creating a victim narrative for herself, she is no longer a "victim who just happens to be cute." She's just cute.

I think you hit the nail right on the head with your analysis. I love how she leaves Nadeko with a new burn, too.

I feel like this is Shinobu acknowledging that Nadeko was a serious rival from the get go, and that she will be certainly be a capable player in any future supernatural shenanigans, even if that puts them on opposing sides. Calling her hateful in every reincarnation is implicitly acknowledging that she has her own motivations and drives that are now in control, meaning that Nadeko can finally steer her own destiny instead of being caught up in the role that the people around her gave her.

Great analysis.

I think one could probably make an hour-long video on this one aspect of hers; Nadeko is quite a complex character, after all.

HOLY FUCK THAT IS SO COOL this arc now truly expands on that and gives us answers on why shinobu felt the most passive aggressive toward nadeko because like she was what nadeko was sorta tryna be
