It's damage per second it's a rpg mechanics and my guess they hide it because it's broken by the setting in the world.

My guess is that it goes against the laws of the kingdom or something.

DPS means Damage per Second. In a RPG party, the DPS is the one responsible for attacking the opponent. Laust is a Healer, the responsible for healing the DPS and the Tank -- the one who takes the opponent's attacks and resists against them. His quirkiness is being a weak Healer but a strong DPS and who knows a Tank...
