I definitely love the naming sense for this show. They took a page from Goblin Slayer and just call them by what's associated to them, except for the MC Haruka. I guess that shows he views himself the only one that's important.

I'm not a fan of it. It's as if they are trying to convey, that those characters will be one dimensional.
Both Komi and Deer Anime managed to do this properly by making all of their characters names a puns.

If he is trying to be a "loner" in another world. Then not knowing names make sense in a way. They would irrelevant to learn for day to day life, but I really doubt this show going to be that deep in that type of philosophy. I was looking at the list of characters and it reminded me of Goblin Slayer naming system, with the exception of the MC.

The characters literally all have stereotypes 🤣

But this helps with the comedy, making it easier to absorb the anime's content.

Each leader of the group has a last name except for class rep and others (in manga class rep's name isnt revealed yet, idk about the LN Havent read it)

Gal Leader (her last name is Shimazaki)
Nerd A (his last name is Oda)
Jock A (his last name is Kakizaki)
Fish Girl (her first name is Chika)

This post was made way before season 1 came out. I was looking at the character list at the time. All their names are like Nerd A, Shield Girl and etc. It's still like that in the listing.

@Moppit yeah but the names i listed there is actually confirmed and named by the author/creator of the of the LN and Manga the other side characters was actually given a full name made for the anime to remember them easily

You can check this wiki for their full names but most of the full names was made for the anime only fishgirl, nerd a, gal leader, and jock a has a comfirmed name
