Um well no one else seems to be discussing this so I guess I'll start (with vol2 cuz I thought it was better than vol1).
The big ending line in Russian in the first volume was revealed in the beginning of the second volume, so I wonder if this is a trend of each volume's ending being hinted at/translated in the next? Too bad I'm too lazy to look up the meaning of the vol2 tagline, guess I'll just have to wait

Is this light novel gonna get sanction by NATO and the west and ultimately axed? Haha there’s a constant joke in the Chinese ACGN community talking about Russian characters and elements in the anime media are gonna get banned. Hope the author continue writing it without getting harassed.

With this volume, we start seeing a lot more of other characters, like Masha, and newcomers like Sayaka, and she could not have given a worst first impression, what a bitch, but then when some things are explained, and with more volumes, I really mellowed out to her a lot.
Ayano is a generic maid trope done right, I dont recall most of her scenes in this volume, but she becomes hella more fun and crazy with what she says as the series progresses, it is so endearing to see her with Masachika and Yuki~~
And the fact that Masachika will react to her, as a member of the opposite sex, but not his sister, is so funny, it probably frustrates Yuki a bit (since she does SEEM to romantically love her brother, but keeps it moderate and mostly funny), but then Yuki uses Ayano to bypass Masachika defenses since her sex appeal WONT appeal him (which is good IMO, I honestly dont want wincest on this work, so I like the comedic take on it).

Chisaki is a character I dont feel much about, she being OP-like is certainly a useful trope for the writer in a specific context, but I do feel this series is about Yuki, Masachika, Masha, Alya, and later on Nonoa and Sayaka, and the other characters, ESPECIALLY his best friends, are just filler and not that interesting at all. I dont mind this because the core characters and how they behave one another satisfies me greatly.

In this volume Yuki is still hiding her true personality from most people even inside the student council, which clashes with how she sometimes manipulates Alya and the rest, in later volumes she is more open about it, showing her true side more to them, which comparing to this volume is such an adorable change~~

Alya already starting to use the "married" word in this volume, her russian whisperings start to get really crazy and delusional and it is ADORABLE to see how much ahead of herself she is with these "delusions".
She already did some critical hits on Masachika since volume 1, but it ramps up even more with this and the next volume, Masachika has to be made of TOUGH shit to be able to handle it and keep an almost poker face all the more when she whispers it a lot of times right on his face, but there are also times he is not looking and she delivers them, his heart is just not safe around her, and the reader is caught in the crossfire~~

Masha started her counseling this volume, I dont mind at all one onee-sama that has tons of love to give and wants to spoil people, Masachika and Alisa get her mother instincts RILED UP, she is petite but has all the right tools for the job, especially with a big bosom to serve as a pillow while comforting!!

The end of the volume with the debate was not bad, I recall reading it and enjoying the battle of wits between both sides, but the one from volume 3 was even better, eclipsing this one out of my memory rather quickly, but it was still a good way to end the volume.

Mod Edit: Modified title for clarity and/or easier searching.

I’m in the middle of chapter 2 right now, and so far so good. Except for one part, we’re just like in chapter 6 of volume one, Kuze was being much too self depreciating. Here’s the part that I mean

she shrugged her shoulders and sat next to him, her hands around her knees. As he looked over at her….

She’s really an E cup…?

He thought about disgusting things as he was looking at twin Hills, crushed by Alisa’s long, white legs.

Now it’s the “disgusting” part that really bothers me. First of all, if he thinks it’s that disgusting, why does he keep doing it? Second of all, like I said, he already did this in the last volume, i’m getting sick and tired of it. I don’t watch, or read in this case, series like this, just to be reminded that so many people think it’s “disgusting“ for stuff like this. I come here for a little thing called, escape. And scenes like that really ruin it! And third of all, there’s this part that’s immediately after that.

he remembered Yuki’s words last night. He always thought that hers were pretty big, but the raw information about the number of cups provided by her sister was too exciting for an adolescent boy.

so once again, why does he think it’s disgusting, if he acknowledges himself that it’s “too exciting for an adolescent boy“? It’s really fucking annoying to be quite honest.

Lastly, there is the possibility that it’s the author himself speaking during those times. Would anybody happen to know whether or not it is? Because it could provide some clarity as to whether or not Kuze really is being extremely self depreciating. If not, then the author is way too harsh on one of his main characters undeservedly, I have to say!

@Cosplay_Joe Yeah, I remember this from the LN. And also, congrats for finishing V1!

And it's not his monologue. It's the author's narrative.

@aurora_yuuki The author's narrative? Ok, thanks for telling me.

And i'm on ch3 now, and looking forward to that, and the rest.

I just finished chapter 4, and Kuze really showed no self-control whatsoever with the Cayenne pepper scene. Especially considering that it was only a few days removed from that ramen shop scene, where Alya nearly lost her mouth because of the extreme spiciness of the ramen, that was a really, really bad move on Kuze’s part! And no excuses considering the fact that it was a few days removed from the “lava ramen” scene and I think mostly because of that, he knew it was wrong going in yet he did it anyway.

Other than that, really good chapter, really like the exchanges between the characters. And wow, Ayano being introduced as Yuki‘s running mate? I mean I knew eventually she would, I just don’t recall her being revealed as such so soon. Must’ve been left out of the anime.

@Cosplay_Joe Sounds like you're loving it more than the anime thus far.

@aurora_yuuki Yeah, either that or i'm just loving the extra content (and context) from the LN's.

@Cosplay_Joe If only you had any idea as to what V4 has in store for you—even if subtle. πŸ“οΌˆοΏ£οΈΆοΏ£οΌ‰β†—γ€€πŸ“

And just today, I came across this section as well:

Yep, that’s the infamous “he makes my uterus tremble“ line. I mean you obviously came across it yourself, but for anyone else, I figured that I’d share it with them as well, so that way they can know what the original version of that line is.

And I would be further along in the LN’s, but the problem is is that I sometimes keep coming across ultra toxic moments and I have to take a break for a while because I often read the stuff when I’m looking to unwind, and I can unwind if I have to worry about whether or not, I’ll be hit with another ultra toxic moment. I talked about that before a few times, and here’s the most recent example of what I mean:

Yeah, that’s what I’m talking about, that was way over the top and completely uncalled for! By both of the guys, as well as the author himself! And it really takes away from the enjoyment that I’ve been having while reading the series.
