Mushoku Tensei II - Volume 3 (Part 2 volume 1) sold 3091
copies
in its first week. Its a slight improvement from the First week sales of Part 1 Volume 1 which sold only 2866
copies
. Considering the price of each BD is higher than an average BD (16,500¥), this is a decent sale.

I feel that the first week sales of Volume 2 will be higher than this.

That's quite a lot.
Yet another Okeanix prediction turned out to be wrong!

the manabi line is usually around 3000 disc sales average https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2015-05-27/anime-studios-success-calculated-based-on-10-years-of-disc-sales/.88558

2 million dollars is the average cost of a 1 cour anime https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2015-08-13/anime-insiders-share-how-much-producing-a-season-costs/.91536

those numbers are not adjusted for inflation though since they are year 2015 numbers

holy shit 16500 yen is really expensive , imo judging the success from bd sales is really not worth it,
i really love the mushoku series , and might buy 2-3 volumes of novel as well but i cant spend this much on specific series and

if i dont buy bd would that mean i dont deserve the sequel of this series?

16500yen might be nothing to west and japan but for us its enough to get food for a month easily

tldr - BDs are way too much expensive and studio shouldnt judge anime's success from bd sales

I dont think the studio really cares about these numbers.

In Fact I dont think the studio really cares much about merch or BD sales in general, ever since the start. If they did, we wouldnt have gotten sequels this early. Season 2 was announced 3 months after season 1 ended . Season 3 was announced immediately after season 2 ended.

Also, the price tag is high because, each volume of BD includes 6 episodes and added benifits like removing the TV censorship if any, redraws, corrections etc. (check the link I shared). Other shows in contrary, usually only include an average of 2-4 episodes per volume.

Pretty damn good numbers. The BD sales seem to have been quite consistent, which means the anime has a loyal and very active consumer base.

When you think about the fact that Solo Leveling didn't even sell 100 Blurays in its first week these numbers are insane

Yeah thats $107.90 USD. when it comes out in America it would be between $34-$70 bucks depending on if there's a limited collector's edition.

well American bds are just bds , they don't include a single bonus Japanese bds have so price is according to that.

and for that I actually don't like Americans publishers

I mean if someone gonna spend money on English bds then he too is deserve the bonus Japanese fans get like illustrations , posters , and sometimes novel/manga that comes only with BDs.

but no American BDs don't give single bonus , typical corporate behaviour

yes and no... they don't include bonuses that would typically come with Blu-ray but when they have limited collector's editions that's when u get outside the normal bonuses. From steel books to figures to soundtracks and apparel to original collection art pamphlet's books right now there's a demon slayer limited collector's edition on Crunchyroll for 135 bucks that has a lot of stuff to it. Most collector's editions are 70 to maybe $100 at most. like I said, it just depends on the collector's edition the anime too is it old is it new is it popular is it more niche.

Decent numbers and an improvement I think from the first cour too, especially for its price from looks of things.
