I was wondering when should we be getting these movies?? I was hearing mid-year next year to early 2028. I know it should take a bit for production but has production already started? I dont really want to wait for 3 years to see this ending but im excited eitherway to see how they animate the fights in this “season.”

We're going to have to wait for more news later on, I doubt there's even an estimate right now on when the first movie will come out.
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait.

MAL is literally just anime Twitter as its own website lol.

It’s even crazier if this isn’t the ending since the movies don’t appear to include the final arc.

We will have to have the entire trilogy plus a season for the final arc.

Thats what I was thinking, it would be best if we get three movies for each upper moon fight and the remaining sunrise countdown arc as a final season of 11 or 12 episodes.
But I am worried if they are going to cover everything into three movies that would be rushed.

An educated guess based on the past of ufotable would be one a year starting probably next year. spring if they are already on it since this season was shorter, but I doubt it will be as early as spring.

But their Genshin project is also starting to roll out. No idea how busy that would keep them tho, if at all.

I assume it's going to be one movie per year, starting next year.

considering mugen train released a year after the first season ended, i don't think it'll be that long of a wait for part 1 of this trilogy

maybe around late 2025 or early 2026

Ufotables's Fate Heavens Feel Trilogy took around 3 years before every movie was released, so we will likely see a similar timeline starting next year now with Demon Slayer

@1ayoh Hopefully because Demon Slayer is one of the most watched anime right now (including internationally) they will try to produce the films quicker. If people have to wait 9 years to finish the trilogy, I doubt people would be happy.

To be honest, we can make a rough guess now based on the previous film. Mugen Train was released relatively shortly after the previous season to keep up the hype and fanbase in order to make peak revenue - which will probably be the same for the finales. They want to draw it out to make as much money out of Demon Slayer as they can before the end of the story and they also don't want to wait too long otherwise people will forget/become disinterested and end up dropping the show (which would therefore lead to less profit).
Also, it depends on when they started development of the films. By the looks of it, I wouldn't be surprised if they have done a lot of the work for at least the first film, considering how much they're advertising it already (they wouldn't push posters and trailers for something that they have barely started yet) - so I doubt it'll be a 2 or 3 year wait for the first film at the very least.
For the next couple films, I bet they will wait to see how well the first film is received before deciding a release date - if the first film does incredibly well, then they may hold off a while longer to milk promotional sales and merchandise.
Don't forget that Demon Slayer has been an incredibly lucrative show for ufotable and they're probably going to hold it for as long as they can.
In my opinion (which is probably quite wrong) I think it'll be about a year until the first film and then a year and a half or a little over a year for each next release.

But I don't know so don't quote me on that. <33 >:3

my guess is spring 2025 for the first movie,
summer 2026 for the second movie and then fall 2027 for the finale.
