Now I have finished watching A Silent Voice and all I can say in just one word is "Masterpiece".
This film must and has the right to be in the top, it is a roller-coaster of feelings and pure emotions, I felt them deep in my soul, I started crying countless times, especially at the end, when we see Shouya as he is finally free, he no longer looks at the world with disdain and he is a "newborn", he actually turned me on his back.

This is my faviorate movie of all time. At first I didn't know why, it just sat perfectly with me, but overtime I came to realize the reason why is resonated with me so much. I could relate so much to Shoto. I never bullied anyone or caused any harm to anyone but subconsciously felt as if my own existence was a curse on others. It has taken me years to figure this out but this movie was so impactful to me because of that. I cry everytime at the end and this will forever go down as a masterpiece.

To me, it seemed like they threw in heavy themes and topics (disability, bullying, suicide, mental illness) without it actually meaning anything. There was little to no character development in any of the characters. Outside of Shoya realizing being a bully earlier in life was shitty, nothing else was really out there. Or it felt like super forced just to add drama to a plot that wasn't there.

Good movie but it's too fast and skips too much stuff, I much prefer the manga.

As someone who is on both sides of Shouya at one point in my life...

Yeah...it doesnt look good...

Trust me...as much as i love this movie...

I dont want to relate to this movie simply because its just a bad experience & memory to think of in real life...

& theres no such thing as a happy ending in real life...

I wish i couldnt relate to this movie...

I understand you perfectly, I cried countless times too, it makes the movie a real masterpiece, it's really brilliant, I have no words for how good it is!

honest to god, i have no idea why people like this movie, its borderline unwatchable and has about zero redeeming features.

the story is bland, and has no depth.
the characters dont make any sense at all, and they are not explored at all, they act in ways that makes no sense at all.
they try to get you with big moments, but there is no build up to it and therefore they dont earn the moment.

this is the absolute most dissapointing movie i have ever seen.

the manga was done so dirty. Im happy people like this movie, and had a great experience, but i do not understand why.

yea, i wanted to love it so its a bit sad, i loved suzume it was weird but had a lot of charm!

I didn't enjoy this movie. As some people mentioned above it feels forced and underdeveloped. Many characters and their behaviour don't make sense.
It was hard to watch poor girl being bullied whole movie for no reason and find some silver lining in it.

I find it incredible the way in which the author touches on topics such as harassment or suicide. This movie, for me and I hope for many more, is one of the best where the protagonist evolves as the story progresses and leaves us with a great life lesson.
