Is it bad or good, what do you think? Do you feel the same?
This was pretty much the last work of Akira Toriyama.
So you would expect this series to be at his peak.
It's a sweet self contained story, maybe more towards an younger audience but still really well made, with everything that comes with Toriyama. Characters are named after food "General Bred (Bread)", the artstyle and many character resembling characters of his earlier work.
At the moment this series is one of his highest rated ones.

I'm all for the "let the villain/hero talk before fighting" as a means to getting exposition and building some character relationships so the final payoff is that much better but this was just too much, especially anything to do with Muniel. Art wasn't bad but was still jarring with how stiff/sluggish things looked at times. Also as you did say I think this is better suited for a much younger audience outside of the violence making it pg13. It was one of his last anime works but the manga was written 24 years ago and that might also be why I'm not too into the humor itself.

How can it be it's last work if he published other things later on worked on other projects after that?
Anyways, certainly it's his most mature story, but it's not really different than Dragon Ball and Dr. Slump. The jokes are same, the way the story flows it's same and there are some characters really similar the previous characters he drew

I enjoyed Sand Land but don’t say it’s his final work when it’s not, he was hands on with Dragon Ball Daima before his passing, don’t forget he worked on Dragon Ball Super monthly too.

@Irshiki The second half of the Sand Land anime was a brand new story that Akira Toriyama wrote.

Yes, I know, but the first part was wrote in the 2000. Plus there's still Dragon Daima and still, even if it isn't a comic or an animated series, Dragon Quest XII. Just another thing, there are rumors of a new Dragon Ball movie next year, we don't if it's true or if Toriyama was involved, but there are at least two projects yet to come
