| Yea this has without a doubt been the best season of vanguard I’ve seen by far. The future Hikari flashback arc and then the sibling duel has been perfect. I was on the fence about the supernatural aspect, but I like it now. Emotional battle as you’d expect between the siblings. Finally, all the feelings they’ve held in for so long were able to be expressed. For Hikari in particular, getting to tell him how much she missed him all these years, being left by herself with her illness and no one to care for her.. that’s a lot of shit to put on a young girl. Her seiyuu did a great job of going from angry to sad back to angry and then accepting her brother’s resolve to win this time and change fate. He’s already beat one fated clash champion, so surely he can beat another. The card fight came secondary to me this time, I was so focused on the emotional aspect of the duel. Awesome episode |
