| With everyone gathered in Tayura-hime's palace, Ruri-Matsuri resurfaces as the leader of the Treefolk, though questioning both Touko and Koushi, who found the truth, it's like a food chain between the divine clans and human fire hunters, which the humans supply fire to the divine clans. Unfortunately, the saying of "playing with fire" really applies here when humans push it out of control, with the current generation of people having to clean up many mistakes of the old generation's faults. The Lady Goddess forthcoming as Tayura-hime in a disheveled human mud as opposed to the doll that she normally would store her vessel in, Kira comes up as the vessel of the twin sister of the Flickering Flame residing in the Millennial Comet, she could not do anything to stop the Earth's destruction. The REAL Flickering Flame is a manufactured robot in her incomplete body, though Touko knows her through her memories with it, lamenting of her suffering both in space and on Earth. But the one thing she can do, is to petition for the resolution of binding everything together, and then with the sickle, granted and assigned Touko as the Lord of the Fire Hunters. The safe journey back for Touko in the collection truck, back to the Papermaker Village where she comes back a hero with Kanata, she is finally safe back home. After a rather decent and promising 1st half of Season 1, Season 2 here...does not live up to the expectations of the novel when added as a whole. Just a shame that the entire product could've been better from the start. |

Ruri Matsuri and the gods who await them reveal crucial truths about the world's origin. In the tense situation with Hibari and others, Touko speaks of her desperate determination. Finally, Tayurahime appears, and Touko witnesses the situation surrounding the princess's divine existence. Who will hunt the Millennium Comet and become the new ruler of the world as the Flame-Hunting King? This show is like those confusing novels you'd read in English class. It rushes through things, has bad animation, and doesn't make much sense. Won't miss this, that's for sure. |

| More secrets, more revelations. This show is truly deep in lore and wants us to know about their world's greatest secrets. Again though, Touko's personality shows a lot in this episode. She's truly matured this season. It seems this season was set for to crowning a true leader and change perhaps the future generations of their world. |

| So this is the end. The Flickering Flame kinda looks like a robot. I have a theory that she was made by humans before the whole thing with fire started. Oh, the text on the muku paper! I feel like I need someone to explain to me what exactly were the Goddesses doing all this time, and what will happen now that they are no more. We haven't seen the collection trucks in so long. The girl at the end is Touko's sister, right? I remember her being very cold in the first episode, and the way she looked at her when she was departing. The change of heart is wholesome. A generous 7/10 I assume this was something like a passion project. The story was kinda all over the place, but I think it's more the direction's fault. I wonder if there were many cuts from the original novel. The animation is not good, but I recommend everyone to watch the OP of the first season again to see that they can actually make good animation. The studio just didn't have that much resources probably. A really big part of the budget must've been spent on all these VAs lol |

| Touko was 100% a JRPG protagonist. Forced to leave the village to do some basic quest, and end up killing 2 goddesses, and became the ruler of the world. Was fine to watch overall. The downs, were the animation, and Koushi mopping around in many episodes. |

| Is there another episode coming? MAL won't let me set it as "complete". Giving this anime a generous 6/10. It's certainly not avergage, although it'd be more precise to say that it is both underwhelming and overwhelming. So it's like a 6/10 and a 4/10. Animation was terrible, artstyle went from interesting to ugly, and the story was just way too hard to follow. The last 3 episodes were probably the best, but even then, too little, too late. There's countless similar anime I'd recommend before that. |

| The finale felt appropriate but easygoing and feels lacking in the way it's presented and what it leads to, everyone coming together just like that after so many years at war, thus it feels meh as a whole, just like the whole series. Also, please mark it as finished, MAL. |
| 7/10 Very sad this anime couldn't have had a bit more time in production and a bigger budget. So much potential wasted but still worth a watch. A nice conclusion. Sucks I can't mark it as complete. It was kinda obvious it would be another 10 episode season so not sure why it was left at '/?' |

| So at the end of this story Touko became the lord of the fire hunters, and two goddesses died. While I mostly enjoyed the storyline I felt it was a bit convoluted at times and the animation was poor. Also some of the stills and characters' reactions felt off. Nonetheless this was still a decent watch, 7/10. |
| Bruh, they wasted the world building, setting and characters on such a meh ending. That was a very convoluted way of committing suicide for the 2 goddesses.... Welp, at least Touko got something out of it, whatever the "lord of fire hunters" entails. lol |
| 7/10 from me as well. Had a weak start in the first season (mainly cause of the visuals) - plot got interesting near the end there. So ... almost an 8 but I went with 7 there as well. Here it started interesting. But the sci-fi stuff got a bit too much and the journey until the end felt too prolonged ... just to end with a rushed ending. Would have preferred if they had arrived at the palace much faster - and the conversations there a bit longer + the stuff that happens after the end. |

| So that’s the end? MAL doesn’t have it as able to be marked complete, but certainly felt like an end to this one. Hikari no ou is a little hard to evaluate because on one hand it does have some of the most unique lore, worldbuilding, characters and art I’ve seen in the medium. But on the other its lacklustre production values can’t be ignored. Felt like this season was even worse than the first in that regard too. I also felt like the resolution with the goddesses was very rushed, I’m honestly not even sure what the hell happened there, but I know Touko came out as fire lord lmao. I’d kind of like to see an epilogue OVA or one more episode just going over what happens to the world from this point on. Doubt it’ll happen though. 6/10. |

| Is that the end? I'd still like to see what happens after, but in any case it was nice to see Touko come home. I still get this lingering feeling like the show was maybe too complex with lore and I don't get some of it, but probably not good enough for a rewatch. |

| A good anime that's coming to an end. I'm glad they didn't leave us with questions about whether there will be a new season. I give it a 7/10, but only for the first season since I liked it a bit more, and this season felt somewhat rushed and fragmented. It's sad that an anime with an interesting concept didn't have a bigger budget. |

| Most of the explanations in this series went straight over my head, everything just felt like an info dump which I couldn't bother to pay attention to. |

| This truly needed one or two more episodes to wrap everything up in a more satisfying note... Overall, underwhelming second season featuring a surprisingly rushed conclusion that didn't feel rewarding at all. Despite the extensive info-dumps and super limited animation, Season 1 managed to portray both story and characters in a more engaging way than this sequel did. Such a shame, considering the premise sounded so promising at first. 4/10 |
| What a fever dream. A shame the show couldn't flesh out its multiple threads for this resolution to hit effectively. Maybe the novel it was based off of is worth a read; I'm sure it gives ample time to its themes and plot points for things to gel together better. |

| So the goddesses die and Touko just rules the world, ok everyone go home nothing happened? The ending just felt anti-climatic and left me going ok now what? I'll give this a 6/10 |
