Just finished the first episode. Okay, so homegirl gets abducted from earth yet nobody says a thing about it? She's just...okay with that? Most jarring anime logic I've seen in a while.

They do explain the situation to both women, just not on camera, however, later there are references to it.
Note: I don’t lazily watch 3-5 episodes, biasedly compare to other anime, or unfairly judge by surface level similarities. With every anime I start, I watch the entire series, both Japanese Sub & English Dub, then judge each anime based on what they present, to give an honest and fair rating.

I'm So Confused. Isn't That *JUST* Isekai?

I mean, kind of but not really. Isekai happens when you die, and get reincarnated I think. This show literally abducted her from her house after she finished working for the day. Big difference imo.

No. I think this one, if it counts as isekai, is wholly different from the typical reincarnation into a new world after truck-kun killed me sort of thing. Dying is inevitable. We'll all die. Getting to live a second life is a plus, even if it's not in your world. Having your life hijacked before you finish it isn't the same thing.

Then you should know, that MC being just summoned is quite common and nobody cares within the story.

It is still kidnapping. It isn't okay, but the world you're from can't do anything about it. You might as will cooperate or at least pretend to since you don't have any allies.

I never thought about the abduction part but even if they die and get reincarnated, it always fascinates me that almost no one misses their past life, relationships and especially their freedom from their original world. Magic and harems are good and all but if you have no freedom (this applies mostly to women), what does it even mean.

I'm mostly talking about this anime because some of the scenes in the first season and in the second makes me think that going from a modern world where you had freedom, to live in a magical world where your marriage will be discussed by a group of men is a big no for me. I don't think the protagonist even cares or thinks about that, but it still makes me ponder.

Reincarnation is when you die. Isekai is when you get transported into a different world. Nice try

Isekai is just a nice way of saying abduction. Still it's against there will but being forced to another dimension or world instead.

Isekai literally means in another world. You could get there by dying, being summoned, being sucked into a (game/show/book), by getting into a magic wardrobe, putting on a magic ring then jumping into a puddle, or falling through a crack in spacetime. How you get there doesn't change the genre.

This thread is stupid but hilarious. 🤣
This is definitely their first isekai series. In fact, the genre is already too old to get that reaction. 😏
It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

Exactly. Anime logic. It's silly.

I have avoided/dropped most of the isekai series out there since storytelling hinged on trope mechanics doesn't interest me. Though I have watched, and enjoyed the one everyone else agreed is good-Konosuba. Trying to think of others, but they're kind of forgettable to me I guess.

But they did talk to both of them about the summoning … it has a flashback later.

I just rewatched the show, so it’s not that didn’t explain anything to them.

Out of curiosity is there an anime where someone puts on a magic ring, jumps into a puddle and because of that goes to another world? If not it should definitely be made.

No but there is a Western book, "The Magicians Nephew". It is Chronologically the first Narnia book but I would suggest reading it second to last.

Give it the anime treatment and I'm game. It can get pretty weird in a hilarious way when they make an anime out of a western story. :)

I agree, all of Narnia should be turned into an anime. With the right studio they would work really well.

Doesn't matter if it's right or wrong. They can't do anything about it so they go with. You can't demand to see the manager.
