It’s definitely a faithful adaptation. Other than cutting out some dialogue here and there, they’ve pretty much followed the book scene by scene. I have some criticisms of the show itself (colour composition, lacklustre directing in eps 4-5), but as a novel reader I’m overall pretty happy with the straightforward approach they’ve taken.

interesting. I'm having a hard time following what's happening, I assumed they cut a lot from the lore? But I guess not then.

@clovis-ai The novel is super conservative when revealing information. Like, the so famous tournament starts in the 2nd half of the 3rd novel. It's a bit hard to follow at the beginning but it works. Think of it as eating a bit of everything in an all-you-can-eat restaurant instead of one huge plate of a single thing (I hope that makes sense).

I think it's adapting ok there are definitely things that could be better but overall it's good. I think my main complaint would be that it's only 12 episodes. We're not going to get to the actual tournament even if there's a second season. I do think 12 episodes for one vol of the Ln is good though.

It is an amazing adaptation imo. One volume for 12 episodes (Ishura volumes are a lot larger than usual volumes, but still)
