This just goes to show that nowhere is really safe in their journey. Touko finds this out again the hard way.

Drama aside, I like the lore and world fiction of this series. It reminds me of classic fantasy shows in the early 2000s as Touko continues her way through the forest. Going through the unknown and facing challenges....

5:07 Hello Borzoi lol

I remember that these letters are written on special Muku (pure; innocent) paper and if you bring one to a divine palace or a temple, the wish written will come true or something. I wonder what's written in there.

I'm getting tired of most of the episode being Koushi finding people to mope around. He set out to find his sister and ended spending time with his teacher, with all the "made those killing tools." talk, that was last episode.

Touko really need more screentime.

I don't think I understand all, or even half of the story, but at least the atmosphere makes me tremble. I predict people of next generation, those that can easily understand all kind of symbolism hidden throughout every frame, will give this anime a classics status.

It was mentioned in this episode that the flickering flame may be mechanical which, in my opinion, could be referring back to the orbiting satellite. Also, I wonder what Koushi has planned as he requested for Kun to find the bugs that give resistance to regular flame.

The group gathers again, this time with a new plan. On one hand, they aim to find the insect that makes you immune to combustion, and on the other hand, they plan to reach the palace with one of the cards.

Koushi still blames himself for killing many spiders, but his teacher helps him understand that he didn't do it out of malice but to protect his loved ones and prevent a war.

All of them meeting together for the next step. Koushi going alone without any dog is kinda weird. Guess they'll let him meet with Roroku again, before something attacks again. Some 🌲👫 content next week.

With Touko, Koushi and Kun going down a sewer line, they encounter fish, but it's not the particularly feasible kind, and this is something that Koushi has down if the gods can create fish like they do humans. And reaching the dark forest, they're able to reunite with fire hunters Akira and Roroku, though the former confirms sighting the Flickering Flame through Hibari to make Kira the next Lady Goddess. And Koushi wanting Kun to find the bug that could help keep humans fireproof as much as spiders like him have already been, Akira takes lead with him and Touko, while Koushi is left to Roroku as his lost hand's substitute.

Both Koushi and Roroku going back to the capital, at least for the former to find his sister Hinako, it's the same with Akira and Touko, whom the gods want to spite them in their journey. Koushi meeting Hitoo on his combustion experiments, and the rumour that a red-haired fire hunter will save them (which sounds like Akira), he douses the information he learnt on the lightning cannon to kill dozens of spiders, which is the one time where he did not consult his help. In a way, saving the cityfolk has resulted in worse casualties, and animal blood to keep the gods away...

Humanity is losing hope in a situation like this...

This one kinda felt like filler, nothing really happened this time.
