Hi,
I don't know if I understand something correctly in this movie. Did Mahito father married his wife younger sister after she died in Tokio? I think he did or maybe she's just auntie from the same family.
Tell what do You guy's think.

Aye he did marry his Wife's sister. There's plenty of cultures were this happens after a wife dies. I didn't think 1940s Japan was one of them though.

Does anyone have a source for the idea that sororate marriage was traditional in postwar Japan? As far as I can tell this isn’t true. The dad is just a dog.

Yea very sus I mean it’s really odd that his wife died in an accident then he got with his sister 🤔
