Where all romance gone?

S1 had plenty of small interaction between "married couple", like kisses, little hugs and etc.

This season lack any of this, like not a single kiss and I sure that almost none of hugs. Even in the end
I expected something, but there was none. And if they together they behave more like pals

Did something happened? Maybe related to Elias master whatever her name? or it was simply omitted to fit more fight scenes?

I simply cannot perceive Chise and Elias as lovers. They seem more like father and daughter.

That's kinda one of the major points of the story, in my opinion...

They both "likes" each other, but have difficulties at pinpointing how and why, especially due to their past, leading them to not understand their feelings the same way (the scenes with Rahab clearly indicates that what Elias was feeling all that time wasn't even love, to begin with). The story is not about their love lives, but how they dissect and try to analyze their own feelings. I wouldn't expect such typical romantical scenes before the end of the story anymore, personally.

There is nothing to say, as this Season already pretty much catched up to the Manga.

There is nothing to say, as this Season already pretty much catched up to the Manga.

Damn, so we're in a limbo state akin to Made in Abyss then. time to wait 5 years again I guess.

And I also have another question beside where all the romance gone? my question is season 1 is like an adventure with too many story arc each episode or something. However since season 2 start it feel like a long 1 single school arc. in season 1 it's ok for me to wait 1 week 1 episode and watch it because each episode is a story. but season 2 I have to wait for whole season otherwise I will see cliffhanger ending on each episode.

Well I expected a lot of school life and a bit of Elias/Chise romance, but instead I got... 24 episodes of slowburn Philomela drama...
