Wrong Cover photo (spoilers)

It’s the cover for the last volume of the LN, which was released only a few days ago, so it is theoretically pretty spoilery. I put a request for MAL to change the image to something else (the cover of part 3 vol. 1 maybe?) but they are taking their time. Also they haven’t released any official art for the new anime so there isn’t anything obvious to replace it with, but ideally it should at least be something that’s not from the very end of the series.

@FreshSalmon827 Yes, Volume 12 of Part 5 is the final volume of the main series, unless the author decides to continue it. But I doubt that would be anytime soon without a break. For the moment she is working on a sidestory/epilogue series Five Lords of Hannalore or something, but since I myself am only in the middle of Part 4, I don't know the details. There is currently a big celebration and countdown on twitter and social media for the final volume's release.

The Japanese on the cover does say "第三部領主の養女のアニメ化決定です".
Basically "Part 3 Adopted Daughter of an Archduke anime adaptation decided".
It is the official promotional material used by TO Books (Bookworm's JP publisher) to announce the new season/studio/new volume all at the same time.

So mods/the person submitted the entry didn't just choose some random pics. Until official anime cover art is released, this is the most appropriate key visual...if you are going to have one.

Animenewsnetwork and animeplanet left it blank, and Anilist just uses the book title as the cover.

Oh lmao didn't realize it was THAT spoilery. I'm caught up on the English translated LN (Part 5 Vol 7) so I thought I was safe lol.

Well it's not too bad. It's been pretty clear the story is headed that way lol.

MAL usually uses picture that shows officially announcement from cover of manga/novel/SNS/etc. (as least what I’ve seen) and this cover contains that pic (アニメ化) so I think it’s correct tho..
MAL will change it later after the real cover comes out anyway.
And for anime only like me, I wasn’t been spoiled by that cover so I think it’s OK, imo

MAL always has avoided to not have a picture to the entries, so i doubt they'll do that, especially for an Anime.

Even if it this Season do cover that Volume, its cover was not officially associated to this Season.

MAL literally just follow what is officially done by the producers of the show tho, that's part as to why Seasons are divised into multiple entries, for example.
