I have no recollection of that place (the place near the beach where the car took everyone to, to talk about school) being of any significance regarding Kaede, so please if anyone would be kind enough to let me know, I would be grateful.

pretty sure it’s the hospital where she and Sakuta where recovering from puberty syndrome, but not sure

The building in the background is minegahara high school, Sakuta's school where kaede wanted to go, but blundered the exams (even though in the end she passed). As they thought at the moment that kaede could not make it in to minegahara, taking her to see the beach in front of the campus would be like rubbing it in her face.

Well, I don't think the author intended for the beach to have much significance to Kaede but it was the place where the previous Kaede reunited with her friend and that kickstarted Kaede losing two years of her memory.

Edit. Hmm I didn't even notice Minegara HighSchool. I still think the beach is where they actually went to tho.
