| Hmmm, not sure which chapter is the last one, since I only read 512 chapters. MAL says there are around 15 more chapters, so I'm not sure if they were part of the chapters I've already read or the one that haven't been translated yet. Overall, this was an enjoyable but occasionally frustrating series to get through. I loved all the different emotion cells and how they make themselves felt. Some of the slapstick comedy around them gets a bit boring after a while but it was definitely a delight for the most part. Coming to the characters and their relationships is kind of where I have my biggest gripes. I really appreciate that this story gives a way more realistic and adult approach to relationships but the way that Yumi handled the end of her relationship with Woong and Babi (the first time) just didn't sit well with me. I mean her breakup with Woong was kind of mutual so it's not as bad but the first time she broke up with Babi felt like a massive overreaction to me. Of course, the future shows she was right to be worried but she was definitely waaay too jealous and possessive to me. Maybe it's because I've never been in a relationship yet and I've read waaay too many romance manga that don't often show the uglier sides of being in a relationship. So maybe my perspective is skewed with regards to how a relationship should be. Still her relationship with Shin is cute, although it is rushed as hell. It feels like the author just needed Yumi to end up with somebody and so created the perfect partner for her to end this happily. Not that I mind of course but I do wish we got more of them together. I liked that everyone found love in this story. I wish we got to see more of Ruby's and Ctrl Z's relationship, theirs was the most fun relationship to read about. Also kind of a shame we didn't get a resolution about Woong's and Jenny's relationship. It was nice to see Wook and his "friend" show up towards the end. |
