If this is peak, then so many other shows are above peak.
This was a pretty generic shounen start, this is how KnY, SnK, JJK, Bleach started and I named only a few.

@Biisoo The manga of chainsawman is actually really short. Back when I started reading it at that time it had 98 chapters and I read the entire thing from chapter 1 in just 4 hours cause the manga is super action packed with some chapters not having a single dialouge only pure action. I think it will not take much time to read the manga until the current chapter for you as well.

I think that one is pretty cute... 😌 I really enjoyed it and I'm happy there will be season 2. But I do want a sequel to chainsaw man. I did love the anime and I'm enjoying the Manga so far 🧐

He said it was still a success. It’s just the fact that it didn’t do as well as JJK is what had him dissatisfied. So I think we still get a season 2. The finale of part one is the best part of part one.

If an anime doesn’t do well here in the west, that doesn’t impact a sequel, can’t say the same fore the east (Japan), we most likely won’t be getting one anytime soon. Just be happy with one season and call it a day.

I'm talking about everything here, even direction-wise it wasn't anything special. It went with the generic things or more like felt it as one and that's all.
CSM wasn't even the best directed show in that season. It was Bocchi the Rock. The shows like CSM are not even close to the best directed shows like Bakemonogatari, Kaguya-sama, BtR, Madoka Magica, Bishounen Tanteidan, Kubikiri Cycle, Yofukashi no Uta etc.
Direction-wise the strongest directors came from shaft.

The reason why the Japanese audience or part of it disliked CSM's - western style - directing is that it was weak. Bakemonogatari also does not have the generic Japanese directing style, but still the Japanese audience liked it, because it was good.

Season 1 was definitely not peak. The reason there hasn’t been a sequel announcement
because a lot of the talent that worked on season 1 were burned out and probably don’t want to return for a mediocre series.
