Am I crazy? - Alternate Ending

Okay so I haven't rewatched this show in a while, and for some reason everything that takes place after episode 21 feels off.

Spoilers head:



Did I watch some alternative cut down ending? After watching episodes 22-24 on HiDive I feel like I watched a much more fulfilling ending in the sense that the vague ending I remember from before was expanded on. Its nice to know that this was how the show was supposed to end but that just makes me wonder what did I even watch before?

The spoiler comes before the fulfilling ending. It's not alternative.

No, everything is explained and makes perfect sense. The three final episodes are just fillers from different routes. You should not be bothered by them.

essentially what happens is that the spoiler ending is retconned later into the desired ending via the power of wishes.i wont say who or hkw because i dont know hownto inout spoilers in comments here

Throughout the show you see them helping people and each time you see a ball of light floating around, this is based of the VN game mechanic where if you collect all the orbs it will grant a wish. The "alternate ending" is the happy ending granted by said wish.

I didn't like that aspect of the show because it goes over most people heads who haven't played the VN.

The ending feels off because it's basically just "And, then he woke up and it was all just a dream".

I meant less of an alternate ending story wise and more of alternate broadcast episode, where 22-24 didnt exist and there was a few more minutes to episode 21 speeding through that all. It might just be my brain summarizing because its been close to 8 years since I watched it.
