I really want to watch Pluto but I don't know if I should watch dub or sub. I Absolutely loved Monsters dub and it is one of my favorite anime. For anyone that is watching dub does it sound good or is it lacking? I watch more sub these days but im always down for a good dub if I have the option.

I watched the first episode dubbed, it's actually pretty good.

There was one scene that I felt like wasn't as great as it could have been with one of the voice actors.

But I'll say about 95% of it was great. and even the remaining 5% is far from bad, there were just one or two scenes where the performance was not top tier enough to truly carry the emotional weight as much. like those scenes needed masterclass delivery to hit as hard as they could, but only got "solid" deliveries.

Which, was a problem with a handful of scenes in monster too, so I actually think their dub is so far on the same level. and I don't even know if the sub has this same issue or not.

what I will say is that the show is visually stunning. I can confidently call it the best looking none-movie anime I have seen based on that one episode alone. so even if the sub is a little better, I think being able to fully focus on the visuals is more than worth it.

oh actually, there is one thing that the dub couldn't do well.

near the start there is a conversation scene, where the guy getting questioned is having a mental break down, and the animators probably spend a week animating just him that one scene.

what I mean is, similar to Akira (yes, it's actually that level of 2d animation at points), the mouth flaps are so detailed in how they are animated, that in that one scene in particular, the flaps could not possibly match as a well as the sub would.

so far, it was just one scene, but it's possible that there is more further on.

I don't mind it that much, but I thought it was worth mentioning.

Thank you for the information. Let me know about other episodes since I probably won't be able to watch until tomorrow either way.
