DON"T UNCOVER if yet to see EPISODE 13 of Suki na Ko ga Megane wo Wasureta/The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses

Just curious about the last episode. Does my observation make sense? And/Or does the Manga talk about it at all?

I don’t read the manga, but here my own opinions l:

Komura fear of being forgotten kinda come out of nowhere, but probably a culmination of previous fear of being useless.

Mie forgetfulness might be a factor in remembering her first encounter with Komura, few details might comeback to her over the course of this series, but she remain somewhat uncertain.

@Mainnus Ooh! Good shout about Mie's forgetfulness. That didn't even cross my mind.
However, they didn't seem to have implied that level of forgetfulness from her during the events of the show. Aside from her forgetting (multiple) glasses, she didn't seem to have forgotten anything else.
But yeah, her forgetfulness is still something to consider regarding the 'past memory' situation.

She met him when she didn't have glasses.
I'm not sure if her eyesight has always been this bad or if it has gotten worse.
In one episode with childhood photos, Mie hadn't seen Komura's childhood photo and in other episode he told Mie that he had black hair and now he dyes them.
So maybe this are just little steps to to bring her closer to remember this situation? 🤔
Maybe if we get next season they will go to this shop and she will notice Komura is that boy from past? 😊

@LittleStar Oh! Great shout about the shop! Wasn't that the same shop they usually stop by when walking home together? Where Mie gave him the cookies, and where she met a childhood classmate (which turned out to be the kid that took her glasses in the past)?
And yes! That time Mie asked Komura to wait in the park, seemingly excited to see his childhood picture does add something to the theory. Maybe she was already wondering if Komura is that same kid and wanted to confirm through the photo.
Regarding her eyesight as a child, she did struggle to see the price of the ice cream because her glasses were lost (stolen by her secret admirer, really :P). But maybe she remembers the silhouette of the boy she was talking to?
We keep increasing the clues! xD

I really do hope that if it ever get a 2nd season they touch on that part of the story even if it's just a little bit like that finale twist. I'm really curious about whether it's a one-sided memory for Komura, do they both remember, or does neither of them really does?

Well, that scene is not in the manga. It was made up in the anime to give some sort of special ending to it, with the husband thing.

@FreedomKME Yeah, I did hear about it being TV-only. This gives me the feeling they won't be making a sequel to it anymore seeing as that childhood twist was quite a solid way to conclude their youthful romance journey.
Maybe it's just one of those adaptations that are never really intended to be fully adapted, with the Manga looking to benefit from the TV adaptation as it goes on, so they created a story conclusion that won't spoil the source material, or use the actual ending that would feel lacking without all the chapters they'll skip? (I'm assuming the Manga's finished already? Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong ^_^)

Manga is not finished. They are about to take the exams to highschool, they are aiming for different schools.

I recommend it, storytelling is a lot better than in the anime, and it has more characters.

For me, he seems to fear being forgotten by Mie because of two reasons:
1. School is only for a few years and there is a chance they may be in different class or change schools
2. He is unsure if Mie likes him and feels that once he is out of sight, he will be out of mind.
