I really wanted to enjoy this anime after watching the big hit movie known as "Indiana Jones and the Ark of the Covnevantn". It was a very cool movie where Indiana Jones beat up nazis and secured an artifact for his country. When I learned that there was a Montana Jones anime, I was very excited and thought maybe that Indiana Jones had a Chinese brother, cousin, or other person that had similar ventures against Imperial Japan in ancient India or something like that really cool. However, I was disappointed to learn that the characters were actually animals? Not even humans. There were no Imperial Japanese villains or nazis or other cool villains.
In actuality, this anime is a Japanese KNOCK OFF of the real Indiaan Jones. Of course it is a kid's show, but thtat doesn't excuse many of the glaring plot holes that you see in it. For example, the villains try to secure a golden medallion in Mexico (???) to fly a plane. However, they steal the plane and fly anyway to secure, for the purpose of securing the medallion, at which point -- why go for the medallion anyway? It makes no sense. The plane was also unrealistic and would not have actually flown. The female main character that joins the adventure also does not make sense and her motivations are unrealistic because her car gets stolen. She appears to join the cast after being randomly abducted, which implies that women will join you just because you steal their things? Horrendous. The show is also bigoted because it trivializes the destruction of native homes, which should not be glorified in a kid's show. This is not a good show and I do not recommend it.
