I was debating if to even call it spoilers since this is a very general concept along the series and comedy through misunderstanding is nothing new to anime, but the warning is up there anyway.
Princess Mia is often misunderstood because of her special circumstances and in cases like in volume 1 when:
Ludwig starts flaunting Princess Mia's name to push through lazy higher official's resistances but then gets doubtful when he realizes maybe he pushed the limit of her trust. Thus, after waiting to hear from her he resumes his duties with even more vigor. What? How does this relate? Obviously, because the princess, who undoubtedly heard he was using her name (she didn't), decided to show her trust through her silence. How did she know silence would encourage him the most? Because she's the great sage, of course.
That's a good development, right?
Another example is when:
Anne received money to "do her thing" in Belluga and due to her deep (delusional) understanding of Mia's character it dawns on her that clearly she didn't mean to have fun with the money (she did) but to give Anne the freedom to help using her own ideas, to show trust and faith.
This helps in many ways in the future, I've read until volume 9 and still it seems invaluable.
Now what I'm aiming for is this: Misinterpretation stemming from high regard that pushes for betterment has yet to fail. I can't help but feel that this belies some form of purport that whatever would reap merit, even if is delusional or sorely mistaken, is beneficial. I'm failing to express myself well so I'll use an example:
Say your local leader did something, anything. According to what you know, he is no genius... But what if he is? What if his ideals are so great that the average civilian is simply blind to them? If you'll search really hard you'll find the way in which it is benign and favorable, then you don't, try harder but... no way this is what he meant, right? It's incredibly roundabout, he could've been straightforward so everyone would be with him, or gotten better results doing it another way... But wait! This may all be explained by (fill the blank!), and so on and so forth.
According to what we learn from the story, as long as you don't confirm these, or even if you do later on, these seeds would sprout into wonderful Blenrus fruit! Is this applicable to real life? It seems over-evaluating people does only good, so go do this, what are you waiting for?!
Thoughts?
"I can barely see anything before me" "I'm the same. But if you believe in the path you've chosen, you must advance through your tears. I will continue to walk the path I believe in. We may be tens of thousands of light-years apart, but our paths will always cross. Never forget.
Don't say goodbye Lionel. Until we meet again bunny. My friend."
(Katsura Kotaro, guess the episode and context)
