The reason this suddenly got such a high rating is due to people who have read the Visual Novel not being able to properly rate the VNs here since MAL doesn't include VNs in their website. So make sure you read the VN instead because that's the only way you're able to fully experience the story. Regardless of whether you like VN as a medium or not, i think The House in Fata Morgana is a story worth reading and it's much shorter than any other VNs.

I’d agree that everyone should read the VN first as it’s the most complete, polished, and masterful iteration of the story. It’s quite a special experience that I think everyone with an appreciation of good literature should read. The manga and LN are also great but should be consumed after completing the VN.

Yeah i'd recommend this as a first VN if anyone interest in the medium especially those who wants a different experience of literature.

Also don't play it on steam lol. You want the "Dream of the Revenants" package edition which is mainly on Switch or Playstation. You can download "Seventh Lair" off steam and then download the patch installer to turn it into the Dream edition of Fata Morgana. The Fata Morgana edition on Steam is bad because it only has original main game without remaster and all it's important sequels and side content.

Read the VN? Isn’t a visual novel more of a game with different dialogue options? I don’t have a computer so there is no way for me to play it, although I am able to read the light novel. Is it that bad compared to the VN?
