I’m a sucker for sports anime and soccer is one of my favorite sports. I’ve heard this show is good but I’ve also heard there’s no annoying and b**chy character who’s always hard on the MC in it and I hate those kinds of characters so I’m wondering how did you guys deal with her and how did it impact your enjoyment of the show?

football not soccer

Sorry. I live in the US and that’s how it’s called. Anyway can you tell me more about Chikako cause honestly she comes off as a b**chy and to introduce a character in a specific episode coming of as haughty and self centered is not a good thing

She is that way only in the beginning, she changes her perspective in the same episode I think, and she is fifferent from then on, manga also.

I see. Thanks for the heads up. It’s just that authors always have a reason or excuse to make the female character act b**chy, arrogant, and mean towards the main male character and even justifying the female characters actions and behavior towards the MC as something that will help him grow when most of the time it’s not even so

It's OK of an anime. Would I recommend it? Not really. There are better out there. If you haven't seen them yet, Hungry Heart Wild Strikers is a good one for an early 2000s anime, Area no Kishi is good too, and of course, Giant Killing if you want the coach perspective.
