It's official. Chapter 61 is back to better days, the current situation was mostly resolved and ch.62 onwards (Volume 13 material) is the start of a flashback arc with Hime and Kanoko. Much better than this last arc. So take a break, wait for more chapters to release and be glad the unnecessary sad, angsty stuff is finally, FINALLY over for the time being.

For anyone having difficulty with the previous arc, I can say that you can skip it all the way to Chapter 61 (and part of 60) and continue reading from there. The previous stuff isn't essential reading and is NOT what I look for in a Yuri series. Drama is okay, but unnecessary overdramatic angst that forgets half the cast is NOT okay.

Hope the new flashback arc with Hime and Kanoko from their middle school days is an improvement. I've been missing Hime. Mainly because she has a better track record of solving her own problems like the Shojo Heroine she is. I'm looking forward to the day she knocks some sense into a few characters from this series. Bonus points if she does a spinning kick on one uninvited guest in particular.

I swear at this point Sumika and Kanoko have had more focus than the main couple, Yano and Hime. Like I feel they've somewhat been switching focus one per arc but Sumika and Kanoko get so much more of a focus. But thats probably just me being bias since I've watched/read this series just for my main ship. Also cause Kanoko herself makes up like 60% of the drama in the series.

Welp, came into the manga from the anime to see more cute Yano x Hime and got the other couple I didnt want. Hopefully the next arc focuses on them when I come back to this in like a year.

Well said. I agree. I haven't seen a series switch its focus this much in long time. And never have I seen a series forget the main couple entirely. I think the author's decision to weave in the flashback arc and all the problems of the current 2, made it as bloated as it was. Which is why more Hime in the new arc will be appreciated.

But you're right. Taking a break and coming back in a year is the better approach. I actually almost did that for "My Dress-Up Darling" due to a lack of focus, but as soon as it hit the goal for the recent arc of analyzing a manga creator's intent while designing a cosplay trying to evoke the same otherworldliness, was something I didn't know I'd be interested in reading, but the last 4 chapters have been fascinating. Only downside is chapters take forever to upload.

So the lesson learned is to have multiple series to jump around between and come back when you're fresh and when there's enough content to sink you're teeth into.

I liked this a lot. I feel like this is an exemplary case of setting up an arc and wrapping it up with a bow. There's a problem, it causes drama for multiple characters, everyone included grow as people, and the problem is fixed.

Can't wait until we get more about the main couple.
