Tbh, I think Mint really matured and also exceeded expectations in her role esecially in these recent episode.

The episode featured tons of action with all the main cast but also emotions too. Most importantly is the way Aoyoma's role as Ichigo looked in horror at his fate. It's one of those episodes with high stakes, more so than any others so far imo.

Ichigo: I live two different lives, it's impossible to pursue a romantic relationship with Aoyama.
Aoyama: I live three different lives.

I think they added the bit with Mint revealing her identity to her brother. I love this!

Also ARE YOU KIDDING ME with that ending!!!! 😤

SO GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!
The fact that Mint went from my least favourite Mew Mew to one of my top characters with this adaptation shows how well they've written her, her moment with her brother was so powerful seeing her arc close!

The animation good a bit more budget this episode as well, everything was great and I can't wait for next week!
The 2002 Tokyo Mew Mew adaptation is not as great as you remember it being.

Aoyama as the Blue Knight, it seems that the transformation has still aways to go. On the other hand, the Mew Mews have to find yet another Mew Aqua without Mint, but what she can do if her own brother can't even trust her. Mint is willing to go, because she's a Mew Mew, and she proved that to Seiji that she can also be part of the restoration effort.

But Mint's effort is only a partial completion, because they still need the Mew Aqua, and the aliens will stop at nothing to stop the Mew Mews. Together with the Blue Knight, the Mew Mews manage to get the Mew Aqua to kill off the cloud dome, which I can say that this is the best that the anime has been thus far. Fighting for the Blue Knight's awakening, it's Pie against Ichigo, though Kish speeds that process up because he failed to protect Ichigo. For a boy who knows not of his origins, only to be swept by Ichigo to make his life feel human, unable to repress his feelings further, the Blue Knight has turned into the Deep Blue.

What is the missing link for Ichigo, the girl that doesn't know the heck of what's going on?

At the beginning of the episode, I was thinking, "They're really going to do the final sequence on a random rooftop? That's boring. Originally this scene took place at a shrine." Then, they changed locations, and I had some hope the finale was going to be hosted somewhere cooler. Halfway through the episode, Zakuro finds Mew Aqua after breaking a random wall in a sewer where there's a mini shrine. I thought, "Is this mini shrine in the wall holding Mew Aqua in reference to the original ending location?" It made me wonder if I should or shouldn't hope for a cooler, final location. At the end... they end up on another, random rooftop for the big reveal, initiating the finale.
I.
I don't know what else to expect from this reboot other than huge moments on random rooftops.
Also. I. I don't even know how to fully process how boring the big reveal at the end was. The camera shots. The dialogue. How cheesy it was for even Shirogane to say, "If only we knew his identity sooner!" As if that would add to the scene at all... Ichigo was very worthless this whole season, even in this episode, hardly able to fight for a single second without someone saving her or all the Mew Mews powering her up. She's hardly herself, and it's just defeating. At the end of this episode, they decided to merge the big reveal WITH the alien's motives? And they just delivered all the motives via weirdly time conversation? Hello? Deep Blue is RIGHT THERE, just standing, and we're having a chat about how the aliens were here first? There's bigger news!!
Lastly, the animation of Blue Knight breaking looked like a really silly react meme. Turning to stone and shattering... I'm sorry, am I supposed to take anything seriously this episode? Even Mint's big reveal (which was a cool concept for her to reveal herself to her family) had the windows busting in for... no reason. It was just a goofy level of 'epic' that made me want to laugh despite how interesting the idea of the scene was. I ended up more concerned for Seiji's computer with an open window next to it than I was about the scene itself.
The only thing I could take remotely seriously this episode was Mint carrying Zakuro into the sky to purify the lightning barrier (which. I also can't find myself to care for) because the one thing I'm getting out of this entire reboot is ZakuMint. Maybe ShiroganexKisshu because they actually interacted for .5 seconds in this iteration, and it had me wondering what that dynamic would be like, based on the original iterations of these characters- the reboot Shirogane and Kissu are uninspiring and boring, their plotlines and developments being relegated to seconds, at most a minute or two, before whisking away from spending even a smidge of effort on either of them. But seeing them on screen together in the Lettuce and Shirogane date episode made me wonder what that ship would be like.
It really says something when some of the little enjoyment this reboot has is based on my own imagination. Yikes. Well, three more episodes- I've come this far, so I'll finish it, but... I need days in between each episode at this rate.
