Please understand, one of the most annoying things in life is people complaining about things that really are not bad at all.
There is no genuine, sincere, or helpful criticism, there is no unique critique, they hate it just because they can.
Basically complaining just because they can complain. It is just so ridiculous.
I think good opinions are respectable, but these complaints are not.
This anime is not bad at all, in fact, it is well made, with a good heart felt story, inside of a fantasy anime, and also with good and nice characters.
It has been enjoyable to watch, without even "inserting" myself into the anime, personally that doesn't make sense to me.
I do understand that people complaining for the sake of complaining can be annoying, but people don't need to criticize to express their opinion and the people commenting here aren't just complaining for the sake of it. The reason people are calling it bad is because
1) None of the characters have a distinct or unique personality and none of them have any flaws either.
2) The kinds of situations thay yuuya finds himself are extremely over the top just so he can show off.
3) These situations usually end in everyone cheering and clapping for him which can feel really weird to watch.
4) Yuuya's personality is also nonexistent and somehow he doesn't have any sort of trauma from BEING ABANDONED by HIS OWN FAMILY.
5) The story is in no way "Heartfelt" as it was made using all the common tropes found in other generic isekais, the writer knew his Target audience, which was people who self insert into these kinds of animes
Now there is a lot more I can write like how the dialogue sounds nothing like how real human beings would talk but I am going to stop here. Now, I will admit that the show is entertaining, but that is only because it is extremely over the top The series has him meeting new people constantly, not enough time has passed to really learn much about the surrounding characters, and his new friends at his new school are not bad characters at all, and he is just getting to know them, so that is unfair to claim about them.
KAGE NO JITSURYOKUSHA NI NARITAKUTE! was an isekai with a strange MC and it was filled with over the top situations made for the MC to show off.
Isekai de Cheat Skill wo Te ni Shita Ore wa, Genjitsu Sekai wo mo Musou Suru: Level Up wa Jinsei wo Kaeta is a fantasy isekai with a good male main character, with the twist of him being in two worlds at once, but it does not have over the top situations for an isekai.
I have watched both the Japanese & English dub. I am not sure who you are talking about, but I found nothing strange about the way they spoke. Some of the dialogue was quite refreshing personally. So many people have ruined language, grammar, spelling, writing, and speaking in the world, that it is nice when people use correctly spoken language.
The anime is about Yuuya Tenjou and so far in all these episodes, the writers have demonstrated that Yuuya has a uniquely distinct character that differs from the cruel heartless world around him. These same episodes also demonstrate his flaws, total lack of confidence even after he changes to be an attractive guy with powers and abilities, and his fear, anxiety, emotional trauma from his awful life, that affect him when he wants to save Kaori, his knees shaking, head spinning, unable to move at all, which he has to overcome and grow out of to save his friend and his new school from danger.
In multiple situations Yuuya's good character is directly contrasted with people that are not like him.
1. While other people ignored the aggressive guys cornering Kaori, Yuuya stepped in to help her, even though he knew that he could do nothing to stop them, and he gets his ass kicked, but this distracts them from her enough time for the police to show up, saving the girl, who recognizes his selfless brave action to help her and she greatly appreciates it then, as well as later as we see.
2. The blonde model is a lazy irresponsible arrogant aggressive selfish jerk, while Yuuya is a helpful, caring, considerate, humble, honest, appreciative young man with a good head on him, as everyone in the modeling group recognizes and appreciates.
3. The twins are hateful, awful, jealous, even willing to kill Yuuya, but despite his frustration and anger toward them for how they treated him, when the twins where in danger and one was being strangled to death, Yuuya steps in to save them and demonstrates love toward them as his family, which completely affects the twins, who realize how terrible they were being to their own brother.
"all the common tropes found in other generic isekais", if that is all you see, then honestly you are not paying attention to real story going on, because there is much more going on in the story than those "tropes" you mentioned.
I do not understand why clapping for a person is weird, especially when they do something uniquely good, heroic, or amazing, that is one thing that does happen in normal every day life. |
