S1 - irritated the hell out of Senpai...but at the end if it ROMANCE had a slight entry between them

S2 - took it from there and you can see how jealous Nagatoro gets and how careful she is to him and also they went on a DATE and that BEACH scene between those two trying to KISS but ruined by those GIRLS.....arguing to protect PAISEN's VIRGINITY

hope S3 will shows the ROMANCE between them

Personally, I never felt the romance being pushed in any part of the series. And I’m up to date with the manga. It’s just two people that can’t be any more different enjoying eachothers company while breaking eachother out of their shell. Naoto is an introvert that locked himself up and isn’t open to show much passion, Nagataro is a martial arts genius that slacked off in Judo and lost embarrassing to someone she always thought was weaker than her. Together they help eachother out, but the romance takes a back seat because fixing eachother character flaws are more important.

Its if I had to guess gonna take until season 4 maybe season 5 until they are in a relationship if I had to guess. as the manga hasn't gotten there yet. but trust if you love romance there is plenty to come it just may not be full on relationship until later.

I'd say they did expand on the romance part quite a bit, but the personalities of the two MCs won't make it happen that easily.
