In episode 6 of this season, Reigen is going through “Friendbook” on his computer and I’m wondering what the messages he’s reading say. The Timestamp for this scene is 14:15 - 15:08. Can anybody able to read Japanese help with the translation that wasn’t provided in the first place?

That’s definitely a part of it, but I’m trying to know what all of the non translated text means in between the timestamps I provided. But seriously, that helps, thanks. Edit: How did you find this picture anyways? Was it from a version where it actually translates the text?

Firstly, he gets a notification from Facebook that it's his birthday and to check out who wished him happy bday, which he finds out was no one. Then he opens his mailbox and checks out an email from his mom (1st picture) and opens the present.pdf file or sth like that, which says (2nd picture). I'm on phone rn so I don't know how it will look so sorry if it seems weird.

If you want a site that translates these Japanese texts then try 9anime or HiDive, from my experience they translate most of it if not everything.

Maybe this accomplishes what you're asking for.

Sincerely thank you. I had a feeling this scene had a lot of implications, but for some reason Crunchyroll doesn’t translate on screen text. I would’ve been trying to translate pictures I took if it wasn’t for your help. Edit: I tried going onto Crunchyroll on my phone to take a screenshot to translate off of it, but it just blacked the picture out, so I was trying to translate pictures taken with my phone of my tv.

FYI for the future Google translate doesn't always have the most accurate translation but it's helpful for scenes like this

Especially considering all the text is pretty clean and legible. It should be able to easily pick it up and give you an idea of what's being said.

I couldn’t screenshot it, it was not legible enough when I was trying to scan the text from a photo taken of my tv, and there was no way I was finding all the kanji characters to form all of those sentences. But you are right, google translate was my first thought process, and it was helpful enough to tell me “Congratulations! It’s your birthday”, besides for that I couldn’t get anything else helpful.

Google translate has a writing feature where you can just straight up write the characters you see. I use this for when I'm translating and don't know a kanji.

on the Google app you can use google lenses which will automatically translate text without taking a picture

Still doesn’t help with the interference caused when pointing a phone camera at another screen, but thanks I didn’t know that was a thing. Edit: Actually come to think of it, it might, because I only notice the interference once the picture is taken.

This would be helpful, but I’ve already tried something like that at another point in time, my hand/fingers aren’t steady enough for the system to know what I’m actually writing most of the time. But thanks though, that could potentially help out other people who see this post.

Thank you everybody for the help, luckily there wasn’t another moment in this season that needed translation, also I started season 3 a couple of minutes ago, and luckily the text is translated for this season on Crunchyroll, not sure why the same couldn’t be said for season 2 in the first place.

The system is pretty good at suggesting characters you might be looking for in the tool bar at the top of the keyboard/writing pad. Its very forgiving if you don't know the stroke order (or if you're lazy like me and just kinda scribble something vaguely looking like the character. Alternatively you can also just copy the character on paper and scan that if your fingers are really failing you. I used to do that before the scribble feature was implemented. A little more time consuming but it gets results.
