| It was my impression that he simply felt inferior to chi, insecure. Sure chalk to up to “luck” but I rate he inadvertently weighed himself down. He couldn’t beat chi and whilst also being annoyingly infatuated with her. I think not beating chi affected him more than he realizes. Discouraged him. His feelings towards her, what did he think would happen if he actually won? Would that mean the competition between them would end and they’d have nothing left for him to stay by her side? I imagine there’s more to this than simple “luck” or not having luck whatever. That’s vague empty words that bring things to a standstill instead of being about progress etc etc. The emotional/mental state is crucial and often neglected and or undermined in consideration. But that’s my take. You don’t agree or like then ayt. If you agree or like then ayt. |

| Taichi wasn’t passionate about playing. I remember him not liking the card game (sorry if that’s incorrect) he only did it cause chi was passionate. The way I see it he kept playing because of her, for her. Only motive seems to be his love interest. Cue opinion riot |
