Well, Bleach is a wildly successful series. It’s often hailed as one of the most popular shounen anime of all time. This is a pretty obscure isekai anime made by an unremarkable studio. It doesn’t even have a twelfth of the impact that Bleach has. Not saying I dislike this show; I actually like it quite a bit, but I doubt it’ll have a sequel anytime soon. Who knows. |

| @Dorkave I imagine you're totally correct with this. I have never understood the popularity of Bleach, though. Seriously.. It was ok, but - it's success is totally puzzling to me. The animation is.. not a style that I find appealing - so "pointy", lol. That's likely to incite flamage, I imagine, but - to each their own, right? I just - can take it or leave it - just not my cup of tea. It takes itself far too seriously imho - it isn't really "feel good", it's not funny, at all - as a drama, it is - hard to pin down. It is SO popular - just don't get it. Then so many filler episodes later on... soured the taste of it even more (I did watch over 100 episodes - and tried to stay "into it", tried pretty hard). It really comes down to taste. I gravitate to more upbeat or light-hearted shows, so - it's not fair for me to even judge an anime of it's genre, really. I do think that most of the VA in Bleach is excellent - gotta give it that (日本語) Dog days is "obscure", eh? Hmmm. I guess you must be right. "Unremarkable studio?" Harsh - I often found the production quality to be quite good. And - the studio that did Bleach is totally remarkable I guess? Want to ask why. Hmm. This is MAL, so - I take it all with a grain of salt anyway. [deleted unnecessary, stupid remark] Why read it and why post, right? I was curious about the DD series, and when I read about one of the most popular shounen anime of all time being Bleach... I guess I forgot about my bizarre taste in anime, lol. Forgive me, general populace, please. ;-) |
