Well I learned something new today. I originally watched handa like a couple year ago or so and I just watched Barakamon like a couple months ago and I had no idea there linked

Yeah, Handa-kun is a prequel spin-off, but not necessary to watch. While not nearly as good as Barakamon, I still found it pretty funny anyway, so I’d suggest giving it a shot.

Dunno , i didn't watched it myself , but i've heard that yes.
It's a completely different setting than Barakamon tho , so it may not please everyone.

Yeah I’d even recommend not watching it it’s really mediocre. But Barakamon is a masterpiece.

is handa kun worth watching?

Not really, I've dropped Handa-kun after 3 episode, it's not bad just not really funny to me.
Barakamon on the other hand is really good, every summer I rewach it and it never tires me, it's always the perfect wholesome summery slice of life

barakamon and handa kun are so different in every possible aspect it's almost disturbing. and the humour in handa kun mostly just made me sad for the poor guy
