omg, i did not know there would be an anime. i remember reading the first few chaps lkke 2 years ago but never continued even tho it was very interesting. im def gonna pick up on the manga again and watch the anime!

Narita recently confirmed that this series isn't part of the Naritaverse so it's unlikely, would be nice to see tho.

Unfortunately it most likely isn't. There is a character whose motivation wouldn't make much sense if he lived in the same universe and city as the Durarara!! crew, specifically Celty. If Dead Mount Death Play didn't play in Tokyo as well one could argue that they might be in the same universe, but within one (very large) city it's kinda unlikely that someone obsessed with the supernatural hasn't ever heard of her.

The manga got an anime adaptation because the sales are very high in Japan, that is why. Usually any adaptation announced when the sales of manga or light novel is high enough ,it means that it deserves an adaptation. Laws of the market.

Narita Ryohgo tweeted this several days before the 1st episode was dropped. Basically Durarara and Baccano are fictions within DMDP universe and vice versa.
