| Typically, as far as I'm aware, in Japanese society, parents want their kids to get married and have kids by a certain age. So, it's interesting how the mother in this chapter wants her daughter to remain single. Also, interesting, I forgot that lard can be used as a cooking ingredient. I also didn't know that it's important to get the proportion of cabbage to carrots right. |
