I will start by saying I loved the webnovel. I loved the manga. And I’m obviously not a part of the anime staff so I have no idea how faithful the anime will be to the source material.

Nonetheless, I couldn’t help feel dissatisfied hearing the voice cast for the MC of this anime. While I’m sure this seiyuu is a pro and will give a flawless performance as often is the case with JP VAs, in my gut I feel like the MC was miscast.

All of this was just my gut feeling after a 90 second PV which is disappointing because I’ve been waiting for this for so many years. I just wanted to know if anyone else agreed or maybe disagreed

I've only seen the PV so I don't have any preconceived notions on how the MC should sound.

This is not what I got from the PV.
He does sound young, and spry but that may be to fit his new vessel.
He sounds confident for his age and sudden predicament.

Perhaps they will lean into the characteristics you spoiler tagged a little further into the show.
Also looking at other roles I've seen the VA in, I think they will be able to get across the characteristics you are looking for.
(e.g., Fushi from To Your Eternity and Jonas Anders from Sugar Apple Fairy Tale.)
