A search of the usual websites and "Goggle" revealed that the light novels are now being published in French. Has anyone seen news of an English language edition? From the Japanese Wikipedia page: the novels and an e-book version were published by Kadokawa. The e-book version and the paperback novels have differences, with some stories exclusive to each and some published as a supplement to the e-books. Kadokawa also publishes the manga and the spin-off manga "Super Cub Rei" focusing on Reiko as the main character.

I sure hope we get some of this in English. The spinoff Super Cub Rei only has one volume of manga so far, but perhaps that will lead to the next anime!

France is publishing the manga, not the light novels.
Nobody will ever translate Super Cub to English, outside from the Nainai Translations dude who translated the first volume.
Your only alternative is to learn Japanese.

Read light novels!
2023 Update: Do NOT read light novels. Regular novels are better. Glory to Haruki Murakami!!!
