Reborn in a space empire? Don't think I've read one like that before.
Also, that's his dogs spirit right? Is it going to protect him from Mr. Evil Tophat.

@Komlan_6
Which part, the part that his wife tricked the protagonist completely or some "random 'guide' god" that sort of messed up his life?

Anyway, I don't want to sound sexist when I say this but, using this chapter as an example, I gave up on real women. Even in the real world we have women with too high standards to the type of devoted men they want with high income, security, housing, and so forth. While the real world's feminist laws help protect women, the said laws unfortunately causes a lot of women to feel too entitled and full of themselves in this generation. Most likely my future would be similar to Boku no Tsuma wa Kanjou ga nai, with some robot taking care of me when I get old.

it is sad to say this but the idea of "true love," like a majority of those Disney movies we grew up with, is simply an idealistic version of reality and it is better to live a long life, filled with low risk and stability, rather than potentially losing it all in a marriage that failed completely in the end, especially if you never know if the partner you choose to marry is just an evil scammer that tricks and abandons you after stealing everything she wants. Maybe I will regret it later, at some unspecified time in the future, but I happily prefer to stay single forever while not having to spend my limited stamina on a demanding marriage and get threatened with a possible miserable future like this manga's protagonist in his first life where I could end up dying thinking "why did I wasted my precious lifespan and resources on something like this!!!!" I admit to feel lucky enough to have regular parents, with a well built marriage, but I doubt I can achieve the same level of marital stability my parents achieved; even my parents also accepted in the strong possibility that I will stay single forever rather than marrying the wrong person. I probably envision my future as similar to Ebenezer Scrooge, just focusing in saving money and prioritize in maintaining my own personal life, yet happier with anime/games/internet.

In the past, as a kid, I often hear about "romance" a lot yet, after growing up, I now see "romance" as "too ordinary and cheap" since I noticed too much of the toxic aspects of society that increased my understanding of human frailty. I admit, I still like romance stories but I am also a realist that separates personal fantasies from reality. I guess both the protagonist and his "wife" were too stupid to believe in "unrealistic love fantasies" too much. Probably the only "smart" person is that guy the "wife" had an affair with, he made the right decision to cut his personal ties with a cheating woman that can potentially also betray him if he chooses to marry her. As for the "wife's" kid, I can't imagine how any kid would feel when learning the birth mother's evil past, in killing the "official" husband, along with the biological father choosing to abandon the kid and mother.
