the movie isn't canon but to enjoy the movie as much as possible it would be good to know the characters and the relations they have with each other

Just do like I did. I read till volume 6 and know what it is about wagely. That’s enough to enjoy the movie to the fullest😉

I'm on episode 52 and i really enjoyed the movie. so maybe watch at least some of the show before watching the movie

I only watched episode 1 before seeing the movie with friends and I was still able to enjoy it.

what people say uphigh it's better to watch some before watching the movie to understand most of it because without it it can really confuse you since it's movie mostly aimed to Anime/manga fans only

You could use youtube or google to get a general idea of what one piece is about ya know its not hard, you’ll enjoy the movie even if you haven’t watched the anime or manga, my best friend went with me and he enjoyed it and is happily watching one piece rn, dont let these guys confuse you, if you enjoy film red, consider watching the anime and then read once there’s no more episodes to watch, the movie isn’t canon but some aspects most likely will be or are.

My friend only watched a few clips from the beginning (the arlong park arc) and a clip from 900 episodes in (land of wano arc) so i’d say you know about as much as he does so you’ll be fine, the only problem i can see from you watching this movie is getting attached to the series lmao

it’s not canon technically but shows backstory to some of the main characters. You should have basic knowledge of the straw hats to kind of understand but you should be fine tbh
