| I always liked the "10 seconds" thing. I also like how Zen turned it into an excuse to get away with Shirayuki. Huh. I totally forgot Hisame came in threw that monkey's wrench at the party. Eisetsu was ambivalent at first, but he turned out to be a decent guy so in the end that piece of drama was completely inconsequential! Aww heck no, Obi. Do not refer to Hisame as Kiki's husband. I will hold out on the hope that their engagement will be prolonged until it is canceled. Thank you Mitsuhide for setting up a room for Shirayuki right next door to Zen's! So we finally got our Zen and (shy) Shirayuki moment. I like the way he teases her about her hiding her blushing under her hood. It's very them. Then she remembers all the way back to chapter 100 about the lucian tea (Yes I had to go back and find it! It also looks like Akizuki-sensei redrew that one panel for this chapter and brushed it up too!). Shirayuki has been oddly shy lately when she's alone with Zen. More so than when they first met. What's holding her back? She wants to be with him but seems to be overwhelmed by her own feelings so she can't act normally around him. Then the chapter ends with Zen coming back and grasping her hand, leaving me hoping that once again Zen will take the initiative and do something that will drive the plot forward. An intimate moment that will reassure Shirayuki! A key conversation that will deepen their relationship and confirm the promise they made to walk the same path together! |

Hisame - who even asks if it's okay to "move forward" with Kiki. It felt like Akizuki-sensei wanted a mature romance with "career/duty vs relationship" as the obstacle for Mitsuhide and Kiki, but couldn't think of a way to make it work so we're kinda at a standstill. Let's just hope she's working on Zen proposing to Shirayuki and then she can resolve the Mitsu/Kiki drama. Either that or I'm hoping Hisame will cancel the engagement/call off the wedding. lol |

Yeah! And what happened to "back then there was a guy I couldn't allow near Kiki" i.e that creep Hisame! And now Mitsuhide is kinda sorta friends with him. Character development I guess? See if the problem is Zen not taking a bride first, then the solution is obvious, right? We're all like, get on it Zen! Propose to Shirayuki already! I don't think anyone's gonna take issue with her being a commoner. Even Izana seems to finally approve of her. Hisame most likely kissed her on the lips. He did ask Mitsuhide before if it was okay to "move forward with Kiki" and made a move on her. Kiki doesn't really react. She just looks slightly surprised but she doesn't push Hisame away. Just imagine how she might have reacted if it was Mitsuhide. |

They're just hanging out and teaming up when Zen needs to go somewhere. |

My frustration towards him has lessened a little but still, poor Kiki! Though I have to hand it to Kiki who handles her partner and his concerns with maturity and grace like a true partner would. When Kiki confesses to Mitsuhide and proposes to him, it happens shortly after the assassination attempt on Zen. Mitsuhide is still shaken by his failure to protect Zen which makes him double down on vowing to be Zen's bodyguard for life. Kiki is pressed for time so she can't wait for Mitsuhide forever as much as she would like to. She has to take over as head of the Seiran Household and marry another noble because duty and responsibility and all that good stuff. Zen talks to Mitsuhide some more and even though Zen assures him he'll be fine and Mitsuhide can't be attached to him forever - they both have to live their own life (!!), it's apparent Mitsuhide's fear of nearly losing Zen has traumatized him. It's going to take him some time to recover. So that Mitsuhide can focus on protecting Zen without distraction, Kiki tells him to turn her down and not worry about it anymore. She doesn't make him uncomfortable, she doesn't press him for answers, she doesn't whine or cry, mope around or sulk. She just accepts her partner and his flaws as he is. It was unfortunate timing for both of them. But Akagami no Shirayukihime is a "romance that cuts through fate". I hope that tagline applies to Mitsuhide and Kiki too. Then when Hisame goes to talk to Mitsuhide about Kiki he tells him: “It sounds like to me your words were meant for a partner who’s been at your side forever, and not for a person who had just confessed their feelings to you." So yeah, even Hisame sees something special between Mitsuhide and Kiki and probably knows he can't even come between them. |

I have a few questions that have been going through my mind since a long time like :
Do other people exist in this kingdom that also have red hair ?
Is perhaps Shirayukis mother no dead or does she have any relative from her moms side?
Does shirayuki have a last name we know almost nothing about her childhood or past like her grandparents I know they weren’t that important for the plot but shirayuki is eventually going to get married to zen I hope and then I belobe it would be nice to at least show a flashback or little story about how her life used to be like or perhaps what made her so passionate about being a pharmacist.
I absolutely love this story it’s my comfort manga that’s why I spend a lot of time thinking how it could continue
Another theory would be ( this one is funny) that her mom is not dead and part of a noble family somewhere in clarines and that shirayuki will eventually meet her since she is traveling or some other relative.
I also hope to know more about obi not necessarily his past since again it might go off the plot but to know if he finds his Happy End maybe he goes on a trip or meets new people ,becomes a high regarded soldier or perhaps even gets a lover but please DONT KILL HIM I DONT WANT ANY MORE CHARACTER DEARTH AFTER JJK 😭😭 no one please🙏

Other people with red hair? Probably. Though people with apple-red hair like Shirayuki and her mother are rare - according to Shirayuki's father. The most we hear of Shirayuki's past is after Zen and co. rescue her from the pirates and they party with Shirayuki's dad. Basically Shirayuki's dad eloped with her mother because screw the nobles! Freedom!! Some time after giving birth to Shirayuki her mother sadly passed away so her father took her to stay with her grandparents. Shirayuki was raised by her grandparents who taught her how to survive on her own and fostered an independent spirit. They also taught her everything she knows about plants and medicine. That's what she told Zen when they first met which is why she tries to solve problems by herself instead of asking for help. But after getting to know Zen better, she learns she can rely on him. Shirayuki's not alone anymore. :) I hope Akizuki-sensei can come up with an interesting backstory for Shirayuki's parents one day. Her mother is of nobility so if Akizuki-sensei wanted to introduce a distant relative on her mother's side thus proving Shirayuki is qualified to marry Zen...but that would be too easy for a "romance that cuts through fate". XD Also I doubt anyone will die in the manga, least of all Obi. It's not that kind of story and the characters are too loveable to kill off! |
